The site has three mapped. Malaga's, in a working school courtyard in Churriana, is the oldest at over 150 years and one of the first avocados ever brought to Spain, planted decades before Malaga and neighbouring Granada became the source of nine in every ten avocados sold in the country today. Barcelona has two, both catalogued for height rather than fruit: one 17 metres tall in Les Corts, planted in 1945, and a second at Teatre Lliure, older than the theatre building beside it by more than half a century. None of the three is grown commercially. All three simply outgrew the fruit tree anyone expected them to stay.
