Tulip Tree
You can identify it from the pavement: the leaf looks as though someone snipped the tip off with scissors, four lobes and a flat end where the point should be. This page maps every tulip tree on the site, 18 so far across 13 cities.
The oldest here exists because of the post. On 1 October 1716 a London apothecary sent seed of a barely known American tree to Leiden, and eleven days later Herman Boerhaave sowed it in the botanical garden where it still stands, now about 310 years old. Everything else on this page was planted too, with one exception: the Queens Giant in New York came up on its own in a stretch of forest that was never cleared, is dated to at least 368 years and is the tallest carefully measured tree in the city. Porto holds four of the eleven, including one whose crown is wider than the tree is tall.
