At 4.70 metres round, this is the widest plane in Seville's survey of its singular trees, wider than either the Macarena wall plane or the Glorieta de Juanita Reina plane already published on this site, though at 23 metres it is not the tallest. Its estimated base girth runs to about 6 metres, and the same two insects recorded on its Juanita Reina neighbour turn up here too, Kalotermes flavicollis and Synanthedon codeti, without dragging the tree's overall condition below good; the survey did flag its structure as compromised, worth a look if you visit. It stands on the Avenida de Bécquer, a walk through Parque de María Luisa named for Gustavo Adolfo Bécquer, the Sevillian Romantic poet whose monument sits nearby in the park. Named avenues of plane trees are one of the standard structural devices Jean-Claude Nicolas Forestier used when he redesigned the park's grounds for the 1929 exposition, and this is one specimen out of what was originally a planted row. The coordinate is the catalogue's own; not independently re-verified.

The pin marks the right spot roughly, not the tree itself. It stands here, but we have not confirmed the precise position on the ground yet. Know exactly where it is?
