The Lime of Gärtnerstraße

This lime once stood inside the grounds of a baroque manor. The Mölckhof, a country house built around 1757 for the court chancellor Felix Anton von Mölck, expanded its park at some point after that, and the tree the register still describes belonged to it. That is as far as the connection goes, and it is worth being precise about the gap: the manor's 1757 build date is well documented, but nothing ties this specific lime to that year, only to a later, undated expansion of the grounds. Guessing an age from the house would be a neater story than the evidence supports, so the tree's age stays unknown rather than borrowed from its neighbour's history. Salzburg protected it in 1991 as NDM00232, 226 square metres, and its only other recorded feature is a trunk that splits into several branches about four metres up. The Mölckhof still stands on Gärtnerstraße in Riedenburg, and the lime is nearby on the same street, reachable on foot with nothing barring the way. The most recent photographs online are from 2014, over a decade old, so a current one would be useful.
