Brata Alberta Lime

Somebody in the forest service named this lime after a saint. It stands on the register as Lipa Brata Alberta, the Brother Albert Lime, for St Brother Albert Chmielowski, and it is the smallest of three protected trees on one plot in section 178n of the Rudak forestry district: 320 centimetres round, against the neighbouring lime's 380 and the oak's 375. All three were made nature monuments in a single resolution of the Wielka Nieszawka council on 7 October 2014. One source carries it, the Gniewkowo forest district's own conservation page, citing that resolution. It gives species, girth and plot and nothing else, which is why this entry is flagged. Nobody has recorded an age either, and 320 centimetres of small-leaved lime says the tree is old without saying how old. If you have seen a date for it anywhere, we would like to know. The three trunks stand within about fifteen metres of each other in ordinary working state forest ten kilometres north of Toruń. There is no gate, no ticket and nothing laid on for visitors: Lasy Panstwowe ground, open to walk under Poland's general right of access. The reward for finding the turning is a group rather than a single tree, an oak and two limes protected in one sentence of municipal law and left otherwise entirely alone.
