Seville's 2022 survey rated this pine optimal across every measure it records, physiology, structure and plant health all clean, standing 26 metres tall on the campus of the university's engineering informatics school. Canary pine is endemic to the Canary Islands, an archipelago whose isolation has made it one of the most botanically distinct places in Spain, and the species is remarkably fire-adapted even by pine standards: a mature Pinus canariensis can resprout new needles directly from a badly scorched trunk, a trait almost no other pine in the world shares. A university campus is an unusual but not unheard of setting for a catalogued singular tree, the same pattern this site has already documented at Cork's University College campus arboretum; a public university's open grounds put a tree like this within reach of any visitor walking through rather than only its students and staff. The coordinate is the catalogue's own. If you know more about when this pine was planted or why, tell us.

The pin marks the right spot roughly, not the tree itself. It stands here, but we have not confirmed the precise position on the ground yet. Know exactly where it is?
