The Sycamore of Kloosterstraat

This sycamore in Megen was planted in 1928, one of the few trees on this list whose year the register states outright rather than banding into a decade. That puts it at just under a century old, younger than most of Oss's other registered trees but dated with unusual precision. Megen is a small walled town on the river Maas, and Kloosterstraat, the street this tree stands on, takes its name from the Franciscan monastery still active there, one of the reasons the town's historic core survived largely intact. A sycamore maple planted on a town street in the 1920s would have grown up fast by the standards of its longer-lived neighbours on this list, sycamore being one of the quicker-growing trees the Dutch planted for shade rather than for centuries of standing.
