The oldest tree on this list is the Ancient Olive of Santa Iria de Azoia, in Loures municipality, about half an hour from central Lisbon by train and on foot. That title has since passed to two other olives assessed by the same method, one in Abrantes near 3,350 years and one in Vidigueira over 3,700, so this one is no longer the record holder, only one of the country's oldest confirmed specimens.
