This oak has been protected by law since 1958, and in 2003 it measured 6.95 metres round at chest height. The county board of Kalmar made it a naturminne, a protected natural monument, on 22 August 1958. The measurement came 45 years later, from the Biological Museum in Oskarshamn, which describes a richly branched oak with a broad crown. That museum is also the source of the most recent check we know of, a photograph dated May 2019. Another from June 2019 shows it in full leaf. Nothing we have found is newer, so if you see it, tell us how it is. It stands just west of the farm buildings of Hägerum, a manor farm in Döderhult parish, Oskarshamn municipality. Two things nobody has written down. The first is its age. No source gives one, and a girth like this alone does not settle it. The second is its species. It is probably a pedunculate oak, but no source says so, which is why we list it simply as an oak. A look at the acorns, which hang on long stalks in a pedunculate oak, would answer it. This is farmland. The oak grows in a fenced pasture beside a farm track, and the 2019 photograph shows a visitor on the path outside the fence. No source describes a right of way into the field, so stay on the path, outside the fence, and leave the farm in peace.
