How do I find it? You can recognise it by the wooden platform built around its base in 2016 to keep boots off the roots, 4.98 metres round. It stands in the Nemkamedis forest, a 3 km marked trail from Poskonys village.

The largest porcini ever recorded in Lithuania was found at the foot of this oak. That was 1971, the mushroom weighed 3.05 kilograms with a cap 49 centimetres across, and it went into the national book of records. The tree it grew under is the reason people walk out here now. It stands in the Nemkamedis forest inside the Dieveniškės Historical Regional Park, about 26 metres tall, with a trunk of 4.98 metres round at chest height according to the park directorate and 4.93 according to the national arboriculture centre, which measured on a different day. It has been a state natural monument since November 1999. In 2023 Lithuania ran a national Tree of the Year vote and this oak came sixth of thirteen on 412 votes, one place and 93 votes behind the Stelmužė Oak, which is the most famous tree in the country. Enough people were coming that in 2016 a platform was built around the base to keep boots off the root plate. Nobody has dated it. Local sources say around a thousand years, which is lore rather than measurement, and a trunk of under five metres is slim for that kind of age. If you know what has actually been measured here, tell us. The walk in is about three kilometres of marked forest trail from the village of Poškonys, and there is no gate and nobody to ask.
