Approximate location.

The path behind Restaurant Vrouwenhof does not go around this beech. According to the national tree register, the tree stands in the middle of it. It is also the tallest tree we map in Roosendaal: 29 metres, on a trunk 3.79 metres round. The Landelijk Register Monumentale Bomen bands its planting to the 1870s, roughly 150 years ago, and its inspector looked at it as recently as May 2025 and kept it on the list as monumental. The register holds photographs of it from 2017 and from 2025. The same register is honest about its own map. It marks the point it gives for this tree as inexact, and our pin follows that point, so it may sit a few metres off. The path is the better guide: walk the path behind the restaurant and look for the beech standing in it. About 120 metres away the register lists a second beech, planted earlier, in the 1830s. That entry is now marked dead or felled, so the older tree is gone and this one is the beech to come for. Come in late October or November, when the crown turns copper and russet before the leaves fall. The park is municipal and free, behind the restaurant at Scholtensboslaan 1, about 1.4 kilometres south of Roosendaal station in a straight line, roughly twenty minutes on foot.
