¿Cuál es el árbol más antiguo de Bergamo?

The oldest trees Bergamo records are the two bald cypresses in Parco Marenzi, which local guides put at over two hundred years and which the species could in theory outlast many times over, since bald cypress reaches a thousand. They stand by the small lake in a walled garden in the lower town, free to visit, and the park reopened in April 2026 after its pond was restored. Italy's national register carries no age field, so every date on this page comes from local sources rather than from the register itself.

Italy's national register of monumental trees is precise about everything except time. It records girth to the centimetre, height to the half metre and a surveyed coordinate for every entry, and it carries no age column at all, which is why several trees on this page have a trunk measurement and no birthday. Lombardy's regional list fills part of the gap, and Bergamo's own green-space writers and local press fill in more, so where a date appears here it comes from those sources rather than from a core sample. Three of the eight stand outside Bergamo itself, in Seriate, Pedrengo and Torre Boldone, three to five kilometres out and named as such rather than quietly folded into the city. Three entries describe more than one trunk: the register groups the Marenzi cypresses and the Paul Harris mulberries as homogeneous stands rather than individuals, and the Piccinelli pagoda trees are a grove; the pin marks the garden in those cases, not a single trunk. The Torre Boldone horse chestnut carries its own honesty note: unsighted in print since storm damage in 2021, it ships here on a continued October 2025 register listing rather than a recent photograph.
