The Caucasian Wingnut of Allegade

Everything about this tree is settled except whether you can walk up to it. The register has it at 3.90 metres round and 20 metres tall on a single stem, position checked in September 2016, described as standing in the park at Allégade 17 in Frederiksberg. What no source we found will confirm is which plot that is. Allégade has a public rose garden, Rosenhaven, entered from number 20, and it also has private ground behind it, and our sources do not say which side of that line this wingnut is on. Go expecting to look rather than to stand underneath, and tell us what you find. It is worth the uncertainty. Pterocarya fraxinifolia is the Caucasian wingnut, a tree of the wet forests between the Black Sea and northern Iran, with long pinnate leaves like an ash and chains of small winged nuts that hang down through the summer. It suckers hard, so old ones are often surrounded by their own offspring. No age is offered here. Nothing we could verify dates it, and nothing in the record supports deriving one, so the field stays empty rather than being filled with a guess. If you know when it went in, tell us.
