The name, the seven brothers, describes what happened after the tree was cut back in the mid-eighteenth century: rather than dying, it regrew as seven trunks, since fused into one body large enough that a nineteenth-century lawyer is said to have received clients inside it. It also served as the meeting point where Sart and Jalhay argued out their shared boundary. A 2012 ministerial order recorded 7.44 metres round; a 2021 visit measured 7.67, roughly a centimetre a year of growth in between. The site sign is blunt: over 300 years old, nearing the end of its life, one of the seven trunks already dead, though the canopy is still vibrant. It stands opposite the Gospinal forestry house, on the trail between Jalhay and Solwaster. A short walk through the same patch of forest finds Clawé Fawe, a beech at a crossroads north of the hamlet of Foyr. Villagers once drove nails into it to draw out a toothache, and it also marked the boundary between Jalhay and neighbouring Limbourg, at the site of Jalhay's old gibbet. It is 3.79 metres round and nobody has recorded its age.
