The oldest tree in Valencia is generally cited as the olive tree of Parque de la Rambleta, in the San Marcelino neighbourhood, estimated at around 400 years old and described by the city's own monumental trees route as the oldest specimen among all five of its walking trails.
Valencia is unusually well documented for this kind of question: the Comunitat Valenciana keeps a legal Catálogo de Árboles Monumentales y Singulares under a 2006 regional law, now covering more than 2,400 protected trees, and the city government separately publishes five named walking and cycling routes past its own monumental specimens, complete with individual profiles. Within that system, the olive of Parque de la Rambleta is the one most consistently named as the oldest, though as with most old olives, its 400-year figure comes from general estimate rather than a ring count or documented planting record. El Titan, the city's giant Ficus macrophylla in the Jardines del Parterre, is younger by comparison at 174 years but has a firmer, more specifically documented planting date, the tradeoff between the two runs through most of this list. The park sits in the San Marcelino neighbourhood on Pio IX street, next to the city's General Cemetery, a short bus ride south of the historic centre.
