The oldest tree in the Oss area is the Lime of Macharen Church, which the national tree register bands to a planting around 1840, roughly 190 years old. It stands on the village square beside Macharen's Sint-Petrus-Bandenkerk.

Five of the six trees stand in villages the municipality of Oss absorbed rather than in the city centre: two limes and a sycamore in Macharen, near the Maas, a beech in Haren's working churchyard, and Megen's Lulboom, a royal lime planted in 1937 for Princess Juliana's wedding that the register itself still calls by its unroyal nickname, earned from generations who have sat on the bench beside it. The register recorded that lime twice, as two adjoining entries only metres apart; this page treats it as the single planting a visitor actually sees rather than as two separate stops. Only the horse chestnut on Klaphekkenstraat stands in Oss itself, on an ordinary residential square rather than a village centre.
