Qual è l'albero più antico di Las Vegas?

No tree in Las Vegas has a documented age, and that is the honest answer rather than a gap we are hiding: Nevada's Big Tree Register measures girth, height and crown spread, not years, and none of the trees on this list carries a recorded planting date. The biggest trunk anyone has measured belongs to the Lemon Eucalyptus of Winchester Park at 234 centimetres round, which makes it the largest rather than provably the oldest, because girth runs at wildly different speeds from one species to the next. The city itself only dates from 1905, which puts a low ceiling on how old a planted tree here can be.

The trees on this page come from the Nevada Division of Forestry's Big Tree Register, which crowns a champion per species on measured girth, height and crown spread. It is a size contest, not a dating exercise, and comparing girths across species says nothing useful about age: a lemon-scented gum can put on in twenty years what a live oak takes a century to build. The largest trunks measured here are in Winchester Park, a lemon-scented gum at 234 centimetres round and a coolibah at 203. On campus the biggest is the weeping mulberry students call the kissing tree, at 173. The register's own figures date from 2015, and UNLV's grounds staff named the same champions again in November 2025, which is how we know they are still standing. What nobody has published is when any of them went in the ground. The university's own planting records would settle it, and if you have seen them, or you know when the Winchester Park three were planted, tell us and we will put it on the page.
