Qual è l'albero più antico di Hilversum?

Hilversum's oldest documented tree is the oriental plane at Landgoed Bantam, dated by the national monumental tree register to around 1880, roughly 150 years old. It stands free in open meadow on the east side of the estate's pond.

Every tree on this page comes from a single source, the Dutch national monumental tree register, which is thorough on planting bands but does not always say who planted a tree or why, so the ages here are the register's own estimates rather than measurements. The one exception is the wedding pair at the Hilvertsweg and Bosdrift fork, where worn inscribed stones and the register agree on the occasion, 1937, even if the stones themselves have worn past legibility. That agreement is still not a second independent written source in the sense the rest of this site aims for, which is why every entry on this page is flagged rather than confirmed outright. Nothing here has a second independent source of its own yet; a photograph, a girth measurement or a planting record from anyone who knows these grounds well would strengthen every single one of these six trees and is worth sending in through the contribute form.
