¿Cuál es el árbol más antiguo de Rudy?

The remarkable tree at Rudy is Dab Cysters (the Cistercians' Oak), a pedunculate oak standing in the park of the former Cistercian abbey in Rudy, Silesian Voivodeship, Poland. Its trunk measures 7.35 metres round, and estimates put its age between 400 and 550 years depending on the source.

Two sources measured the trunk at 7.35 metres round, among the widest recorded in Upper Silesia, though they disagree on height (26 versus 32 metres) and give slightly different ages, roughly 450 to 500 years. The tree stands in the 95-hectare English-style park around the former Cistercian abbey at Rudy, a park three dendrology trails now run through. It already appears in a 1752 engraving of the abbey by the German painter Johann Elias Ridinger, and an 1858 history of the monastery describes the oak by name, which is why the wide age range is treated as reasonable rather than exaggerated. In October 2022 someone set a fire inside the tree's partly hollow trunk, an act of vandalism reported to the police and confirmed by the Regional Directorate of State Forests in Katowice. A tomography scan followed, and by mid-2023 the professor who examined it reported the tree in good condition. Acorns collected from it have since been grown into hundreds of saplings planted elsewhere in Poland.
