¿Cuál es el árbol más antiguo de Bordeaux?

The largest tree in Bordeaux's own register is the black poplar at Parc Chantegrillon, measured at 741 centimetres round the trunk, which makes it the thickest trunk in the city's remarkable-tree list. It carries an Arbre Remarquable de France label awarded in 2012 and stands in a free public park. Its age is not recorded anywhere: Bordeaux's register gives girth, height and crown but leaves the age field empty on almost every entry, so this page says how thick a tree is rather than how old.

Bordeaux publishes its entire tree inventory, over eighty thousand trees, and flags a small number as patrimonial or remarkable. Only that flagged subset is used here, and even inside it the designation is a decision rather than a measurement: some flagged trees are young, and one is a sapling. The register carries a life-status field and, separately, a felling date, and the two do not agree with each other. Seven trees still marked alive carry a date of removal, one of them felled in June 2025, because the register updates the date and not the status. Those are excluded, and every tree here was checked again for whether it is standing. Fifty-two further candidates are absent for a different reason: the flagged subset is full of trees in school and creche grounds, especially in Merignac, and a tree behind a school gate is not one a visitor can go and see. Where the register and a second source disagree on a measurement, both figures appear in that tree's own story.
