Welcher ist der älteste Baum in Iida?

Iida City's cultural property record and the art museum's own pages agree: over 450 years, about 5.4 metres round at chest height, roughly twenty metres tall, and unusual for its age in holding that height with no props or braces. The trunk divides about three metres up into five major limbs arranged like a broom, and the crown rides on them. Its formal name is Osahime no Edohigan; the common name comes from the ground it stands on, the former residence of the Yasutomi family, chief retainers to the Hori clan who held the Iida domain, now the site of the city art museum. Nagano Prefecture made it a prefectural natural monument on 22 May 1967. It opens slightly after the spring equinox, usually the last days of March into early April, and the city runs a bloom tracker and lights it at night while it flowers. About 2.85 kilometres south, on the old Enshu Kaido, a second and younger cherry, the Weeping Cherry of Kega-kuyoto, flowers in the same window.
