Liguria is one of a handful of regions that keeps its own register alongside it, and its version does record one, which is why a hop-hornbeam at Villa Serra is the only tree here with a figure that came from a document rather than from arithmetic. The rest are estimates drawn from trunk circumference, and every entry on this page says so rather than presenting a number as a fact. Two trees rest on the register alone and are marked accordingly. The camphor on Via Romolo Gessi is the interesting case: at 734 centimetres round it is far thicker than comparable specimens found elsewhere in the city, which makes it either remarkable or a recording error, and nobody has published a second measurement either way.
