The oldest sycamore maple in the Ramsau grows at 1,170 metres on the plateau below the Dachstein's south wall, at the rear of a working farm called the Feistererhof. Its own information sign hedges the age at presumably around 450 years, an estimate rather than a measurement, and no girth or height has ever been published to check it against. It is an official Naturdenkmal in its own right, filed on the district's protected-tree list under its plain municipal name.

The only age anyone puts on this maple comes from a sign standing next to it, and the sign hedges: presumably around 450 years.
Take that for what it is. It is the estimate of the people who live with the tree, not a figure from a core sample, and nobody has published a girth or a height that would let anyone check it. What is on the record is the tree's standing. It is the oldest sycamore in the Ramsau, and an official Naturdenkmal, object number 010 on the Bezirk Liezen list, filed under the flat municipal name Ahornbaum Ramsau am Dachstein.
It grows at 1,170 metres on the Ramsau plateau, with the south wall of the Dachstein above it, at the rear of the Feistererhof off the Feistererweg. The farm still works and now takes guests as well. Sycamore is the maple that keeps going at this altitude when other broadleaves thin out, and this is the one the district singled out.
